The guides on Mathumo Academy are written by the Mathumo team for parents of children aged 4 to 8. Each one goes through the same steps before it is published.
How a guide is made
- Sources first. Each guide starts from sources a reader can check: published standards (such as the Common Core State Standards and the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework), government and research guidance on early math, and peer-reviewed studies. They are listed at the end of every guide.
- Drafting with AI assistance. The first draft is written with the help of an AI model, from those sources only, following our writing rules.
- An independent check. A separate review that did not write the draft checks every claim against its source and removes anything the sources do not support.
- Approval. A person on the Mathumo team reads and approves the guide before it goes live.
What we don't do
- We don't give medical, diagnostic or therapy advice. If you are worried about your child, talk to their teacher or doctor.
- We don't take payment for links or mentions, and the guides contain no ads.
- When a guide mentions the Mathumo app or our free games, it says so plainly.
